Unidentified Man's Body Found Floating in Benoa Port Ship Gap
The Head of Public Relations of the Denpasar Police, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, stated that the discovery of the body was first noticed by a ship worker named Benidiktus Benyamin Malo around 8:00 AM local time on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
“The witness had just arrived at work and was heading to the ship. While near the ship’s gap, the witness saw a man floating,” said Adi, as reported by detikBali on Wednesday, May 13.
Upon seeing the incident, the witness immediately shouted for help, and several crew members came to the location. The discovery was then reported to the police.
Around 8:45 AM, personnel from the Bali Police Water and Air Unit and members of the Benoa Port Police Sector arrived at the location to conduct an inspection. The police found the victim deceased, lying face down and floating between the ships.
“The victim was then evacuated by the SAR team for further examination,” Adi added.
When found, the victim was wearing a dark green shirt and blue denim shorts. The police also found a Vivo brand mobile phone and a charger in the victim’s pocket.
