Unhas Awards 100 Endowment Scholarships on National Education Day

Education is the heart of civilisation, the space where intellect is shaped, character is forged, and the nation’s future is at stake.

Makassar (ANTARA) - Universitas Hasanuddin presented the Unhas Endowment Scholarships to 100 students on the occasion of the 2026 National Education Day commemoration in Makassar on Saturday.

Unhas Rector Prof Jamaluddin Jompa, on this occasion, also awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya Honour Badge to lecturers and education staff as a form of appreciation for the service they have provided.

The recipients of the award consist of 28 people for 30 years of service, 28 people for 20 years of service, and 110 people for 10 years of service. This award is a form of recognition for dedication, loyalty, and integrity in carrying out duties.

JJ, in his speech at the Hardiknas ceremony, reaffirmed the strategic position of education in addressing various global challenges and the dynamics of changing times.

Amid digital disruption, environmental crises, and the development of artificial intelligence, education remains the most fundamental, strategic, and civilised solution in facing the complexity of global challenges.

This year’s commemoration theme, “Strengthening Universal Participation to Realise Quality Education for All”, emphasises the importance of collaboration among all elements of the nation in delivering an inclusive, adaptive education system with real impact for society.
