Makassar (ANTARA) – Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) and PT Citilink Indonesia have established a strategic partnership that extends beyond administrative ties, focusing on strengthening human resources and the future of higher education.

Rector of Unhas, Professor Dr Jamaluddin Jompa, stated on Monday in Makassar that the collaboration is not merely institutional but aims to provide learning experiences closer to industry dynamics and needs. With an academic community of approximately 60,000, Unhas possesses significant capacity to support collaborative initiatives with the industry.

“With the potential and resources at our disposal, we believe collaboration with Citilink can yield numerous positive contributions, particularly in developing student capabilities and strengthening skilled human resources,” said Jamaluddin.

Prof JJ added that collaboration opportunities are extensive, spanning human resource development, enhancing student competencies, internship programmes and industry-based learning, as well as applied research relevant to the aviation sector.

Unhas students are expected to gain direct learning experiences within Citilink’s professional environment as part of capacity building and practical training. Prof JJ noted that university-industry synergy is crucial in navigating rapidly changing global dynamics.

“Through Unhas’s academic programmes, including the Competency Strengthening Courses (MKPK), students are encouraged to pursue off-campus learning opportunities, such as internships and direct engagement with industry,” he explained.

Citilink Indonesia’s CEO, Darsito Hendroseputro, stated that the airline has not only focused on building networks with Jakarta-based universities but is also strengthening collaborations with leading institutions across Indonesia. In this context, Unhas is viewed as strategically positioned with strong academic capacity and resources.

“We require academics. We are ready to engage in discussions and open up broader collaboration opportunities. We are delighted to partner with Unhas,” he added.
