Universitas Hasanuddin and Anhui Fuxin Education Consulting Co Ltd are collaborating to attract students from China to continue their education at Unhas in Makassar. The outcome of this agreement is directed towards a significant increase in the number of international students. Makassar (ANTARA) - The Rector of Unhas, Prof Jamaluddin Jompa, in Makassar on Friday, stated that this collaboration serves as an important milestone in developing cross-country educational partnerships oriented towards strengthening academic capacity, student mobility, and integration with the global education and industry ecosystem. “We position this collaboration as part of the development of an integrated global academic ecosystem. It not only covers student exchanges but also includes research collaborations, programme development, and industry involvement in supporting the learning process,” he said. Furthermore, Prof JJ conveyed that the results of this agreement are aimed at a significant increase in the number of international students. Chairman of Anhui Fuxin Education Consulting Co Ltd, Sun Xiaoxing, explained that this partnership is designed as an integrated and adaptive model of cross-country educational collaboration to meet global needs. According to him, Unhas has strong academic capacity and institutional potential to become the primary destination for Chinese students in Southeast Asia. “We are building this collaboration on an existing foundation, where there are currently around 40 students from China studying at Unhas,” he said. Fuxin Education will encourage the involvement of Chinese industry partners in supporting programme implementation, including opening opportunities for internships and cross-sector collaborative research. “In the future, we will continue to increase that number gradually through more structured and sustainable joint programme development,” Sun Xiaoxing added.
