Unhappy maid runs off with employer's baby
KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): An Indonesian housemaid, who was fed-up with constant scolding from her employers, ran off on Wednesday with the couple's 15-month-old son, news reports said Friday.
Police in Kuala Lumpur are searching for the 49-year-old maid who worked for less than two months for the couple.
The couple also have two young daughters.
The maid, who packed milk, diapers and clothes for the infant, left a note on the television saying she was angry at being ill- treated and that she had yet to receive her salary.
"She said she could not tolerate our instructions on house chores and feeding the children," said Mohamed Ghazali Abdul Rahim, the child's father.
"She said my wife grumbled a lot whenever she asked for money," he said, adding that his wife gave the maid 100 ringgit (US$26.3) on Tuesday.
"I pray that no harm befalls my son. He is an innocent baby who knows nothing," he was quoted as saying by the Star daily.
He said he and his wife only learnt that the maid had run away after his two daughters, aged two and three years, were found by neighbors wandering about in the apartment building where they lived.
