Jakarta (ANTARA) - The arrival of President Prabowo Subianto in Japan became an indelible experience for the Indonesian diaspora who attended to welcome him in Tokyo on Sunday (29/3) evening, including Mutiara Mutiruta Miru Binto, who obtained the President’s signature.

In an official statement received in Jakarta, Mutiara Mutiruta Miru Binto, an Indonesian resident in Tokyo working as an elderly care nurse, admitted to feeling both nervous and delighted when she finally met the President in person and succeeded in getting Prabowo’s signature on a book titled “Strategi Transformasi Bangsa: Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045”.

“Actually, I was really nervous. It was beyond expectations to meet the President directly. This also became an opportunity for the diaspora in Japan to meet,” said Mutiara.

Mutiara recounted that the moment occurred when Prabowo greeted each Indonesian diaspora member present one by one. She took the opportunity to request a signature as a memento.

“Perhaps because the President was also tired from the journey, I only managed to ask for a signature. The motivation was to meet him directly,” she said.

Mutiara explained that the chance arose because her position was quite close to Prabowo. She was very grateful to finally obtain the signature.

“Guidance also from friends, and by chance, my position at the end matched with the President. The President was also very friendly, and alhamdulillah, I got the opportunity to obtain the signature,” she revealed.

Mutiara added that the meeting was her first time seeing the number one person in the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo, in person, after previously only watching him through the media.

“This is the first time I’ve met him directly. Until now, I’ve only seen him on YouTube or on TV,” she said.

Previously, the President and his entourage arrived at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday at 19.10 local time. During his first official visit to Japan, the President will meet with Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, when giving a statement to reporters in Jakarta on Sunday, conveyed that during the visit, President Prabowo will discuss various strategic matters that have long been the strength of cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.

“These meetings are certainly to strengthen the friendship cooperation between the two countries, and specifically, the President will certainly discuss many strategic matters that have been the strength of our cooperation with the Japanese Government,” said Prasetyo.

“For example, in terms of trade, then technology, education, and including in the scope of forestry and environmental cooperation,” he added.
