Unfiltered: True Face of Suspect in Bandung Woman's Confinement Case Revealed

The case of the alleged confinement and torture of a woman with the initials YTR (29) in Bandung Regency, West Java, continues to draw public attention. Amid the ongoing investigation, the suspected perpetrator has come under scrutiny after his real, unfiltered face was uploaded by Atalia Praratya on social media. The upload is part of an effort to assist the police in hunting down the suspect, who has not yet been apprehended. Atalia Praratya stated she obtained the photo from a report by a netizen who claimed to know the true appearance of the man suspected of carrying out the confinement and abuse against the victim. Through her personal Instagram Story, Atalia uploaded the photo so that members of the public who recognise the perpetrator’s face can immediately provide information to the police. “Ma’am, this is the real face of the captor and torturer. Those who recognise him, please contact the West Java Regional Police immediately,” read the upload on Atalia Praratya’s Instagram Story, quoted Monday 22 June 2026. The move was made as a form of support for the process of uncovering the case, which has recently shocked the public. The hope is that the dissemination of the suspected perpetrator’s facial photo can accelerate the search process by law enforcement officers. Meanwhile, the victim’s condition still requires serious medical treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. The 29-year-old woman is believed to have suffered torture for approximately three years in a rented room in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency. The case was first officially reported by the victim’s family to the West Java Regional Police on 12 June 2026. Based on the report, the victim is suspected to have been the target of severe violence over a very long period, causing serious physical damage. As a result of the alleged abuse, the victim experienced a drastic decline in health. She is reported to have lost her eyesight, suffered severe damage to her lips making it difficult to speak, and is no longer able to walk. The medical team continues to provide intensive care as the victim’s condition is still considered critical. Atalia Praratya not only urged the public to help find the perpetrator but also expressed deep concern after learning of the victim’s condition, who is believed to have lived in torture for years without many people knowing.
