There is a blessing behind the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) raid on the Regent of Tulungagung. That blessing is like an unexpected windfall for a car rental entrepreneur in Nganjuk because nine of their vehicles were rented by the KPK. Eges, one of the managers of the Nganjuk-based car rental, said they struck it lucky during the KPK’s agenda. The order came from a colleague in Jakarta for the rental of nine minibuses for activities in Tulungagung. “I received the order from a rental colleague in Jakarta. They requested vehicles with AG licence plates (formerly Kediri Residency),” said Eges, quoted from detikJatim on Saturday (11/4/2026). According to him, the KPK began renting the vehicles from Monday (6/4/2026) until Friday night. Eges said his side immediately sent the requested vehicles to Juanda Airport. The minibuses consisted of Toyota Innova, Daihatsu Xenia, Toyota Avanza, and Suzuki XL7. “There were two stages, on Monday and Tuesday. We sent the vehicles to Juanda. At that time, we were asked to keep it quiet; it turned out to be the KPK,” he said. During the rental by the anti-corruption agency, the rental company did not provide drivers but the vehicles were directly taken by the KPK team. “All keys handed over,” he said. According to him, all the rented minibuses have now been returned to the rental company. Eight vehicles at Tulungagung Police Station and one vehicle at Sidoarjo Police Station. “We were informed last night that it was finished and asked to pick them up in Tulungagung and Sidoarjo,” explained Eges. Previously, the KPK conducted a closed investigation in the Tulungagung area. In this operation, the KPK examined 18 people. Thirteen of them were taken to the KPK’s Red and White Building, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo.
