Unesa admits 8,292 students through SNBT 2026 pathway
The SNBT pass rate for Unesa this year stands at around 12.2%, reflecting intense competition for admission, particularly in health and applied vocational programs. Surabaya (ANTARA) - Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) has admitted 8,292 new students through the 2026 Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) pathway from a total of 67,952 applicants, with 3,107 of them receiving the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) education assistance. “Approximately 37% of the students who passed SNBT this year come from the education assistance recipient group,” said Martadi, Unesa’s Vice Rector for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni, in Surabaya on Monday. Martadi explained that out of the total admitted candidates, 5,185 were accepted through the regular pathway, while the remaining 3,107 were KIP-K recipients. Sukarmin, Head of Unesa’s Subdirector of Admissions, added that the SNBT pass rate for Unesa this year is around 12.2%, indicating fierce competition for entry, especially in health and applied vocational programs. At the undergraduate (S-1) level, Nursing is the most competitive program with a success rate of 1.49%, followed by Physiotherapy at 1.54% and Dental Medicine at 1.82%. Health-related programs dominate the list of the most competitive courses this year. Besides Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental Medicine, and Medicine, Bachelor of Midwifery and Bachelor of Nutrition also rank among the top 10 most competitive programs. Outside the health sector, Mining Engineering, Tourism Management, and Business Administration are also popular among applicants. For applied undergraduate (D-4) programs, State Administration has the highest competitiveness at 1.8%, with Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Building Architecture also facing intense competition. Digital and media fields have also attracted applicants, with Digital Education Multimedia Engineering, Informatics Management, and Media Production among the top 10 most competitive programs. Amid the competitive selection process, Unesa has admitted two visually impaired students, both enrolled in Bachelor of Political Science and Special Education. “The inclusion of disabled students reflects the university’s commitment to expanding access to inclusive higher education,” Sukarmin added. Admitted candidates must re-register from 27 May 2026, 10:00 WIB, to 9 June 2026, 15:00 WIB. The determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) is scheduled for 11 June 2026. Sukarmin reminded applicants who fail to re-register on time will be considered to have withdrawn from the SNBT pathway. For those who did not pass SNBT, Unesa still has 6,566 seats available through the independent admission pathway. “Congratulations to those who passed SNBT at Unesa. For those who did not pass, stay motivated and continue striving to join the champion university,” he said.
