Unemployed Man Arrested for Stealing from Same Minimarket Three Times
The Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Unit has arrested an unemployed man identified as MR for stealing from a minimarket. Unit head AKP Sudrajat Djumantara stated that the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday after having previously targeted the same shop. “We successfully detained MR. His modus operandi was to enter a supermarket and take goods. He has admitted to doing this three times,” Sudrajat said when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. Sudrajat explained that the suspect claimed he was forced to commit the thefts because he had no income to meet his living needs. “He is not working. So, MR has no job, and to fulfil his needs, he was forced to steal,” Sudrajat stated. He added that the stolen items, which included daily necessities such as coffee and cooking oil, were then resold by the suspect at a price lower than the original. Meanwhile, Criminal Investigation Officer Ipda Priyo Purnomo added that based on preliminary examination results, the suspect admitted to carrying out his actions at the same minimarket three times. “He claims he has never done it at another minimarket,” Priyo said. During a urine test, the suspect tested negative for drug consumption. “There was no drug use,” Priyo confirmed.
