Unemployed graduate
From Republika
I am a graduate of the School of Teachers Training and Educational Science, majored in educational administration, at the University of Bengkulu. I call on Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro to show me the way to find a job so that I do not become a criminal, a thief, or even a murderer, just to be able to survive.
Why is there no chance for graduates of educational administration to work in the Department of Education and Culture anywhere in Indonesia? Please, tell me what to do? Like other colleagues, I succeeded in completing my study at the university at the cost of our family rice field, garden and cattle. Now there is nothing left for me to run a business, as a contractor or a broker.
We remember officials of the Education and Culture in Bengkulu advising us to choose the subject because it is in great demand. And that the graduates would be recruited as civil servants after graduation. But it turned out to be an empty promise.
I have great desire to dedicate myself to the nation, but how? The nation seems to have no interest in employing me. Again, I would like the Minister of Education and Culture to comment about this.
