Undisbursed Loans Reach Rp2,500 Trillion, OJK Notes Dominance of Working Capital Credit
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has recorded that working capital credit dominates the portion of undisbursed loans, or credit facilities that have not yet been drawn, as of May 2026, accounting for 54.33 percent. This condition indicates that the majority of credit facilities are prepared to support the productive activities of the business sector. Based on bank groups, the position of undisbursed loans until May 2026 was recorded at Rp 545 trillion at state-owned banks (Himbara) and Rp 1,664 trillion at national private banks, in the form of both committed and uncommitted loans. “The gradual realisation of credit drawdowns also reflects the cautious attitude of business actors in managing their funding needs amidst economic dynamics,” said OJK Chief Executive of Banking Supervision Dian Ediana Rae in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (23/7/2026). Overall, the value of undisbursed loans reached approximately Rp 2,575 trillion up to May 2026. According to the OJK, the large value shows there is still room for the business world to utilise credit facilities in line with their respective expansion plans. This condition is also considered to have the potential to encourage credit growth in the coming period. Dian said credit growth is projected to continue increasing, supported by sustained economic growth, business confidence, and positive and stable market conditions. “The OJK will continue to conduct intensive supervision of the intermediation function, asset quality, and banking liquidity to ensure the banking industry remains healthy, resilient, and capable of supporting sustainable national economic growth,” Dian said. Overall, banking performance until May 2026 continued to show a positive trend. Credit grew 11.51 percent year-on-year (yoy), in line with third-party fund (DPK) growth of 13.47 percent yoy. Meanwhile, according to Bank Indonesia (BI) data, banking credit growth in June 2026 increased to 12.67 percent yoy, higher than the previous month. DPK growth in June 2026 was recorded at 10.21 percent yoy. In terms of capital, the banking industry’s capital adequacy ratio (CAR) reached 23.74 percent in May 2026. Meanwhile, the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio was recorded at 2.17 percent gross and 0.84 percent net. On the liquidity side, the liquid assets to DPK ratio (AL/DPK) in June 2026 was 23.08 percent, down from 24.74 percent in May 2026.
