Undip Student Team and Bank BTN Help Lanjan Village Businesses Go Digital

A team from the 2026 Student Organisation Capacity Building Programme (PPK Ormawa) of BEM FISIP Universitas Diponegoro, together with Bank BTN, held an introduction and mentoring session on QRIS for business owners in Lanjan Village, Sumowono District, Semarang Regency, on Wednesday (19/8/2026). The activity was part of efforts to encourage local entrepreneurs to start using digital technology to support transactions and business management.

The event took place at the TPQ in Dusun Susukan, Lanjan Village, and was attended by village residents, business owners, and the Joint Business Group (KUB). Also present were the supervising lecturer for PPK Ormawa BEM FISIP Undip, Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, the Undip Task Force Team, Ir Daud Samsudewa, a representative of the Semarang City Youth and Sports Office (Dispora), and the Secretary of Sumowono Sub-district (Sekcam).

Before the presentation session, participants first completed a pre-test to gauge their initial understanding of financial digitalisation and the use of digital payment services. The material was then delivered by the Branch Manager of BTN KCP Undip Tembalang, Rizki Devita Hamidayani, who explained the importance of financial digitalisation for business owners and the use of banking services to support business management.

During the presentation, participants were introduced to various banking services that can be used to support business activities, including more structured financial management. The material also emphasised the importance of separating personal and business finances and keeping cash flow records more regularly.

One of the main focuses of the activity was the introduction and mentoring of QRIS creation for business owners. Public enthusiasm was evident from the large number of entrepreneurs interested in following the QRIS registration process. Mentoring was provided so that business owners could understand the use of digital payments and begin applying them in their daily transactions.

Regional Digital Retail Head for the Central Java and Yogyakarta Regional Office, Diah Mariani, said that developing digitalisation and community enterprises could be part of efforts to drive local economic growth.

“Going forward, the programmes currently being carried out are expected to help business owners and culinary ventures grow further. The more businesses that emerge, including coffee shops that can become culinary destinations in Sumowono, which is so beautiful and cool, the more the community’s economy can continue to grow and develop thanks to the coffee potential it possesses,” she said.

Branch Manager of BTN KCP Undip Tembalang, Rizki Devita Hamidayani, stressed the importance of digitalisation for business sustainability.

“Digitalisation is an important step so that business owners can continue to grow and adapt to the times,” said Rizki.

Enthusiasm was visible among the business owners who took part in the mentoring. Komah, one of the participants and a business owner in Lanjan Village, said the activity provided direct benefits in supporting the development of her business.

“I am greatly helped as a business owner by this QRIS mentoring. Hopefully, with better payments, my business can run more smoothly,” said Komah.

Through this activity, the PPK Ormawa BEM FISIP Undip team together with Bank BTN sought to encourage Lanjan Village business owners to become more open to the use of digital technology. The mentoring is expected not to stop at the introduction of QRIS, but to serve as a first step for the community to develop more adaptive business management in line with the times.
