Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) has officially attained the status of a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH). This change in status was marked by the issuance of the Government Regulation (PP) regarding the Undiksha Statute as a PTN-BH.

The regulation was presented by the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Khairul Munadi, to the Rector of Undiksha, I Wayton Lasmawan, in Jakarta on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

The transition from a Public Service Agency State University (PTN-BLU) to a PTN-BH provides Undiksha with broader scope to manage its institution, academic and non-academic policies, and to develop the university in accordance with its specific needs and characteristics.

Lasmawan emphasised that the PTN-BH status is not merely an administrative change, but serves as a momentum for the campus to increase its independence and management quality. This transformation also marks a new chapter for Undiksha in building a higher education institution that is more autonomous and adaptive to developments in higher education.

“The essence of PTN-BH is not solely about a change in institutional status. More than that, PTN-BH is about independence in managing the university, improving the quality of services, strengthening innovation, and increasing the university’s contribution to society, the nation, and the state,” said Lasmawan on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

According to Lasmawan, greater authority is accompanied by greater responsibility. Undiksha is required to strengthen professional, transparent, and accountable governance, oriented towards quality improvement.

“With PTN-BH, we gain more space to move and innovate. However, we must fill that space with performance, integrity, accountability, and utility,” Lasmawan asserted.

The issuance of the PTN-BH Statute is not the end of Undiksha’s transformation journey. Instead, this new status serves as a starting point for the campus to prove performance improvements through the strengthening of education, research, innovation, and international networks.

“This is not the finish line, but the starting line to work harder. Let us make PTN-BH a momentum to leap further, building an Undiksha that is excellent, independent, competitive, and increasingly impactful,” Lasmawan encouraged.
