Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) has developed a web-based counselling information system to strengthen early detection and prevention of child violence in school environments. The programme is named SI-Konseling Pro.

The development of SI-Konseling Pro is led by Kadek Suranata. The professor developed SI-Konseling Pro by involving the Guidance and Counselling Teachers’ Association (MGBK) and the Bali Regional Board of the Indonesian Guidance and Counselling Association (PD ABKIN).

SI-Konseling Pro was developed through the Strategic Research Downstreaming Programme – Product Testing Scheme for 2026, funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek).

SI-Konseling Pro was developed through the Neuroharmony Laboratory. The programme combines Electroencephalography (EEG) technology, artificial intelligence (AI), psychological assessments, and Balinese local wisdom values, namely Tri Kaya Parisudha.

The system has a number of features to support school counselling services, ranging from DASS-21 assessments, online guidance and counselling consultations, structured and anonymous reporting of violence cases, to EEG analysis to support the pre-counselling process.

Through EEG analysis, students’ neurophysiological data is displayed on a dashboard as additional information for guidance and counselling teachers, particularly regarding indicators of concentration and emotional regulation. The technology is used as a screening aid and not to replace the counselling process carried out by teachers.

Suranata said the development of SI-Konseling Pro is intended to ensure that university research results can be used directly to answer the needs of schools. “We want lecturers’ research not to stop as publications or prototypes, but to be downstreamed into innovations that are truly utilised,” said Suranata on Monday (31/8/2026).

In addition to technology, the system incorporates the values of Tri Kaya Parisudha, namely manacika, wacika, and kayika, which emphasise harmony of thought, speech, and action. These values are combined with counselling approaches to help students build more positive mindsets, communication, and behaviour.

The team used baseline neurophysiological norms from 35 subjects in Bali as one of the references in the development and interpretation of data. This was done so that the system is more suited to local conditions.

Testing of SI-Konseling Pro has been carried out in a number of partner schools in Denpasar and Singaraja. The team collected DASS-21 baseline data from 400 students in eight schools and conducted pre-post tests on 65 students.

Suranata hopes the system can continue to be developed and used more widely to strengthen guidance and counselling services while creating a safe school environment for students.

“The hope is that SI-Konseling Pro does not stop as a prototype, but can continue to be developed into a solution that provides real benefits for schools,” Suranata hoped.
