Understanding the Suluk Ritual Ahead of Eid al-Adha

The spiritual activity of the Suluk ritual in Aceh is usually carried out three times a year, namely in the month of Rabiulawal (the month of the Prophet’s birthday), Ramadan, and 10 days before Eid al-Adha or Dzulhijjah (the month of Hajj), which is attended by various age groups filled with increased dhikr (remembrance of God), sunnah prayers and other worship activities with the aim of cleansing the heart, purifying the soul from sin and to get closer to Allah SWT.
