Underprivileged Women Gain Growth Opportunities Through PT PNM's Guidance

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Underprivileged women in Indonesia now have growth opportunities thanks to PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), which actively provides long-term guidance down to the grassroots level. “The guidance carried out by PNM is directly executed by tens of thousands of Account Officers (AO) who meet clients every week at home verandas, community halls, and neighbourhood environments,” said PT PNM’s Corporate Secretary, L. Dodot Patria Ary, quoted from a written statement on Thursday. “Their presence is not just about distributing business capital, but also accompanying the process of building courage, discipline in running businesses, and encouraging the creation of family economic independence,” he continued. Patria stated that through guidance in the form of regular group meetings, clients have the opportunity to learn business management, understand financial responsibilities, and build confidence in running ultra-micro enterprises that support daily family life. The extensive scale of this guidance shows that financial services for underprivileged communities are not sufficient with just capital distribution. More than that, direct presence in the midst of society is needed so that the financing process can run safely, productively, and create social impact. In the field guidance process, there are simple educational activities on business management, strengthening women’s business groups, and AO visits to ensure clients’ businesses can develop. This guidance model is considered one of the differentiators of PNM from other conventional financial services. Because the main focus is directed not only at access to capital, but also at creating growth opportunities for underprivileged women.
