Iran has launched attacks on United States military bases in Gulf countries in retaliation for a massive US assault on Iran that violated a temporary ceasefire MoU previously signed by both nations.

The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed that falling debris from interception operations injured three people, including a child. “The injured are receiving the necessary treatment,” the ministry’s statement read.

Al Jazeera reported that the ministry stated that following the Iranian attack, security forces and civil defence teams have begun handling procedures in accordance with approved emergency plans.

Qatar said it has the right to “respond” after a series of missile attacks by Iran against the Gulf state, which hosts a massive deployment of US military personnel at Al Udeid Air Base.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it affirmed that “the continuation of this aggression represents a dangerous escalation that will complicate efforts aimed at containing tensions [and] undermine political and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving security and stability”.

“[Qatar] holds the Islamic Republic of Iran fully legally responsible for this aggression and all its effects and consequences,” Qatar said in a statement. The attack constitutes a “flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity” of the country and a “blatant violation of international law”, it added.

The Iranian attacks also targeted US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

The United Arab Emirates stated that “monitoring and tracking systems are operating with high efficiency around the clock and at the highest level of alert” after Iran launched attacks across various parts of the Middle East.

The Ministry of Defence stated via the X platform that “the missile threats detected this morning were outside the country’s borders”.

After the US and Israel launched a war against Iran in February, the Revolutionary Guard launched a fierce attack on the UAE using drones and missiles. However, no attacks have been launched against the country in recent months.
