Unboxing the First MacBook Neo in Indonesia: What Do You Get for Rp 10 Million?

Apple’s cheapest laptop, the MacBook Neo, has finally been brought to the domestic market and will be available in mass production from Friday, 22 May 2026. On opening the box, the unit shows the MacBook Neo, a greeting card, a USB-C to USB-C charger cable, and a 20W charger head. The MacBook Neo features a more curved design on its sides, with a more compact size and a light weight of 1.23 kg. The thickness is 1.27 cm, slightly bulkier than the MacBook Air at 1.13 cm. On its sides there are two USB-C ports, an audio jack, and dual speakers on the right and left. For the cheapest Apple laptop priced around Rp 10 million, the chassis still looks luxurious, relying on aluminium material, similar to the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The keyboard colour is designed to match the body. However, the MacBook Neo’s keyboard is not backlit like the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. The colour alignment also extends to the rubber pads. The MacBook Neo’s trackpad uses multi-touch technology, slightly different from the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air which are more intuitive with Force Touch technology. The screen is 13 inches, slightly smaller than the MacBook Air’s 13.6 inches. The colour standard remains sRGB, but brightness reaches a strong 500 nits. Other core specs include an A18 Pro chip similar to the iPhone 16 Pro, a 1080p HD camera, and a battery with streaming capacity up to 16 hours, 8GB RAM, and 256/512GB storage. Prices start at Rp 10,749,000 (256GB) to Rp 12,999,000 (512GB).
