Unauthorised Padel Court Building in Cilandak to Be Demolished
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of South Jakarta will demolish an unauthorised padel court lacking proper building approval on Jalan Haji Nawi, Cilandak, South Jakarta.
“The enforcement action will eventually be carried out by a joint task force. We are awaiting a recommendation from Citata because Satpol PP cannot act unilaterally,” said Nanto Dwi Subekti, Head of South Jakarta’s Civil Service Police Unit, to journalists in Jakarta on Saturday.
The enforcement action against the padel court lacking building approval (PBG) will be undertaken by a joint or integrated task force following receipt of a recommendation from the District Office of Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs (Citata) in South Jakarta.
The padel court licensing process involves several agencies, including the Department of Public Works, the Public Services Office (PTSP), and the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora).
Dispora will subsequently issue operational approval, which is currently under discussion. “From now on, the construction of padel courts in residential areas is no longer permitted,” said Nanto.
However, as of now, South Jakarta’s Civil Service Police Unit has not yet received a recommendation from Citata regarding the planned demolition.
The South Jakarta Municipal Government is ensuring compliance with licensing requirements and padel court assets following complaints from residents.
Based on discussions by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding padel courts, new licensing for padel court construction is not permitted in residential zones.
Padel courts lacking building approval will be subject to sanctions, ranging from operational cessation, demolition, to revocation of business permits.
Meanwhile, padel courts with building approval but located in residential areas are advised to negotiate with the city mayor and relevant officials, with an operational deadline to be set.
For all padel courts in residential areas, even those with building approval, the maximum operating hours are until 20:00 WIB.
If padel courts generate noise from bouncing balls or shouting that disturbs residents, they must be soundproofed.
