The UN (ANTARA) - UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed serious concern over the attack on a UN vehicle in the city of Kherson, Ukraine.

The vehicle, which was clearly marked, was part of an inter-agency humanitarian mission led by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and had been notified to the relevant parties well in advance, said Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General, at a daily press briefing.

The UN is currently working to ascertain all the facts related to the incident, the spokesperson said.

“The Secretary-General reiterates that international law, including international humanitarian law, must be respected at all times. Civilians and civilian objects, including humanitarian workers and objects used for humanitarian operations, must be respected and protected at all times,” Haq added.
