UN Reveals Israel Continues to Obstruct Humanitarian Operations in Gaza
Jakarta, VIVA – The United Nations has affirmed that Israel continues to obstruct humanitarian aid operations into the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire having been in effect since October.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, at a press conference held at UN Headquarters in New York, United States. Dujarric stated that his colleagues had reported that humanitarian operations in Gaza continue to face obstruction.
“Our colleagues at the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have reported that humanitarian operations in Gaza continue to encounter significant obstacles,” he said, as quoted from WAFA on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
He further explained that of approximately 50 coordinated aid initiatives between 6-11 February, “Israeli authorities only permitted half of them to enter” Gaza.
