UN Award for Siskeudes Strengthens Commitment to Integrated Village Financial Governance

Director General of Village Government Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, La Ode Ahmad P. Bolombo, stated that the Honourable Mention award for the Village Financial System (Siskeudes) at the 2026 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) serves as international recognition of the Indonesian government’s efforts to strengthen accountable and transparent village financial governance. He conveyed this at the office of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, Siskeudes is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), developed as an implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. “Siskeudes is a tool to realise accountability and transparency for village governments in managing village finances,” he said. He explained that since its implementation began in 2015, Siskeudes has been gradually used in nearly 75,000 villages, or about 95 per cent of the total villages in Indonesia. For its contribution in supporting transparency, accountability, and increasing public trust to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the system received the Honourable Mention award at UNPSA 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia. As a form of appreciation, the United Nations invited an Indonesian delegation consisting of the Minister of Home Affairs, the Head of BPKP, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to receive the award at the end of June 2026. La Ode added that the success of Siskeudes also received appreciation from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform as a public service innovation that strengthens governance at the central, regional, and village levels. According to him, this achievement is a momentum for the Ministry of Home Affairs to strengthen the integration of the village financial and asset management information system with the Republic of Indonesia’s Regional Government Information System (SIPD RI). This integration is expected to harmonise development planning and budgeting between the central government, regional governments, and village governments. “SIPD RI will certainly synchronise not only development planning and budget planning between the centre and the regions, but will also synergise with development planning and financial management in villages,” said La Ode. He revealed that the current online-based implementation of Siskeudes has covered 319 districts/cities. In addition, the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to encourage the digitalisation of village financial management through the implementation of online-based non-cash transactions integrated with banking.
