UN and GCC Condemn Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia

New York (ANTARA) - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterries and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi have condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, noting that they target civilian facilities and threaten regional security and stability.

The condemnation was issued during a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of Albudaiwi’s participation in the 81st UN General Assembly held in New York, United States.

During the meeting, both parties discussed several matters, particularly regarding cooperation between the GCC and the UN, as well as efforts to strengthen this partnership for mutual benefit.

They also exchanged views on recent developments in the region and discussed various regional issues and the steps currently being taken to address them.

On the same occasion, Guterres expressed his appreciation for the development, progress, and prosperity achieved by GCC member states, as well as the various efforts undertaken by the council at both regional and international levels to enhance security and stability.
