The Nusantara Capital Authority (Otorita IKN) received a visit from representatives of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) at the Core Government Centre Area (KIPP) Nusantara on Monday (13/04/2026). This visit strengthens understanding of IKN’s development progress while opening opportunities for collaboration with the international community.

The visit was attended by Allan Mendoza, Security Adviser and Representative of UNDSS to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, and was directly welcomed by the Head of Otorita IKN, Basuki Hadimuljono, along with his team. During the meeting, UNDSS conveyed its interest in IKN’s development progress and future cooperation opportunities.

“We are interested in the various developments occurring in the Nusantara Capital. One of the backgrounds for our visit is to follow up on the survey conducted by the diplomatic community last year. And it turns out that Otorita IKN is very open to the UN for this; we will convey that news. Hopefully, our other representatives can also visit here in the future,” Allan stated.

For further information, UNDSS is part of the United Nations Secretariat tasked with coordinating safety and security aspects for all UN entities globally.

On this occasion, Basuki also shared the progress of IKN’s development, which is currently entering the phase of strengthening the core government area. In the future, development will focus on the judicial and legislative zones as part of the long-term construction stages.

“I conveyed the Nusantara Capital development plan, consisting of five stages from 2022 to 2045. Currently, we are preparing to complete all construction in the core government office sector. Next year, we will focus on developing the judicial and legislative areas, which we have already started now,” Basuki said.

This visit serves as an initial momentum to open dialogue between Otorita IKN and the United Nations, while strengthening Nusantara’s position as an area open to global collaboration in the future.
