UMSU Forges International Partnership with Malaysia's UniSZA

Medan (ANTARA) - Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) have established an international partnership marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in education, research, and community service. The MoU was signed directly by UMSU Rector Prof Akrim and UniSZA Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Fadzli bin Adam in Kampung Gong Badak, 21300, Terengganu, Malaysia, on Thursday. “Both institutions hope that through this collaboration, various collaborative programmes can be developed,” said Prof Akrim in a statement received in Medan on Thursday. He explained that the partnership involves development in the field of Ilmu Falak (Islamic astronomy), which is a particular strength of both UMSU and UniSZA. Meanwhile, UniSZA Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Fadzli bin Adam noted that an international conference would serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences. “We will also hold an International Conference on Ilmu Falak this year,” he said. The collaboration also encompasses higher education leadership training, as well as mobility programmes for students and non-academic staff to enhance human resource competencies.
