Umrah Pilgrimage Bus Plunges into Ravine in Nagreg, 13 Injured, One Dead

A bus carrying a group of umrah pilgrims plunged into a ravine in the Nagreg area of Bandung Regency, West Java, in the early hours of Friday (14/8/2026). As a result, 13 passengers were injured and one passenger died.

Head of the Traffic Accident Unit at Bandung Police, First Inspector Lilim, said the single-vehicle accident involving the umrah pilgrim bus occurred in the early hours of Friday on Jalan Raya Nagreg, Bandung Regency. He said the vehicle with registration number B 7858 ZAA was travelling from the west, Bandung, towards the east, Tasikmalaya.

“On a downhill stretch, the driver lacked concentration and was not alert to the situation ahead, causing the vehicle to veer to the right and crash into the wall fence of a house,” he said, as quoted on Saturday (15/8/2026).

As a result of the accident, he said, more than a dozen passengers were injured and one victim died after being taken to Cikopo Cicalengka Hospital in Bandung Regency. “An umrah group,” he said.
