PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero), operating as InJourney Airports at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport branch office, has announced that from 1 July 2026, the departure process for group umrah pilgrims using licensed Umrah Travel Organisers (PPIU) will be centralised at the dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. “The centralised service will be implemented in stages starting on 1 July, 8 July, and 15 July 2026, based on the airline used by the pilgrims, to ensure a smooth and optimal service transition,” said Soekarno-Hatta International Airport General Manager Heru Karyadi on Saturday, 27 June 2026. Heru stated that this service enhancement also refers to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Circular Letter Number SE-DJPU 12 of 2026 concerning the Arrangement of Hajj and Umrah Air Transport Passenger Services through the Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. According to Heru, departures through this dedicated terminal are intended to provide a more comfortable, orderly, and well-organised travel experience for umrah pilgrims from their arrival at the airport until their departure to the Holy Land. “The Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F has been optimally prepared to serve the needs of umrah pilgrims,” he said. With more comprehensive facilities, a larger area, and specially designed operational support, Heru assured that every pilgrim would receive the best service from the very beginning of their worship journey. The 27,418-square-metre terminal is equipped with facilities designed for the comfort of umrah pilgrims and their accompanying families, including a waiting lounge with a capacity of up to 3,000 people and a mosque covering 3,136 square metres that can accommodate approximately 1,000 worshippers. A total of 20 check-in counters have also been specially prepared for umrah pilgrims, so that the departure reporting and baggage drop process is carried out separately from regular passengers, ensuring a faster and more comfortable departure process. In accordance with Circular Letter Number SE DJPU 12 of 2026, airlines serving group umrah pilgrims will implement a split operation scheme in stages according to the established schedule. In the initial phase starting 1 July 2026, umrah pilgrims using Long Air, Hainan Airlines, and Saudia Airlines will process their departures through the Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. The next phase, starting 8 July 2026, includes umrah pilgrims departing with Scoot and Turkish Airlines, and from 15 July 2026, it includes pilgrims flying with Qatar Airways, Egypt Air, Oman Air, Emirates, and Etihad Airways. “These stages are to ensure the operational transition process runs optimally and to provide time for all stakeholders to adjust the service process for pilgrims,” Heru said. He added that the implementation is being carried out in stages so that services for umrah pilgrims run smoothly. “We continue to coordinate with airlines, PPIUs, regulators, and all stakeholders to ensure each stage proceeds well,” Heru said. Previously, Terminal 2F had served umrah pilgrim departures through several operational phases. The terminal first served Lion Air charter flights in 2022, then expanded with Garuda Indonesia charter and regular flight services in 2025. Various facility improvements and operational scheme refinements have been continuously carried out until the terminal is finally ready to serve group umrah pilgrim departures on a wider scale starting July 2026.
