UMKM Business Innovation: Gadoeh Rasa Turns High-Protein Chicken Liver into Crisps for Children
Jakarta, VIVA – UMKM actors in Bandung are again delivering culinary innovations through the hands of creative entrepreneurs, this time with a children’s snack product that is different from the usual: Chicken Liver Kremesan. Selma Tianuri, Digital Marketing Manager of Gadoeh Rasa, explained that this is not just a savoury kremesan that often accompanies meals; the product is a high-protein nutrition breakthrough designed to support children’s growth.
“UMKM Gadoeh Rasa is the pioneer behind this idea. By adopting a concept of healthy and affordable locally-produced food, they present a product that blends Bandung’s distinctive flavours with children’s nutritional needs,” Selma said in a statement on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
“Chicken liver rich in protein and iron is processed into crispy kremesan, so children can enjoy it without getting bored,” she said.
She noted that the innovation arose from a simple concern about how to get children to eat nutritious food without being forced. Many parents struggle to introduce animal protein sources such as chicken liver due to its texture not being to their liking.
With a creative touch, chicken liver can now be processed into light kremesan familiar to children’s palates. Not only in terms of taste, the product also carries a social message. UMKM Gadoeh Rasa wants to show that healthy food does not have to be expensive, and can come from local kitchens.
“With raw materials readily available at Bandung’s traditional markets, they demonstrate that innovation can grow from the roots of their culinary culture itself,” Selma said.
Kremes Hati Ayam also becomes a symbol of the courage of SMEs to break away from old norms. If usually children’s accompaniment products are identical with instant porridge or sweet snacks, Gadoeh Rasa offers a savoury, crispy, and nutritious alternative.
“This is a form of SME adaptation to the needs of modern society, which is increasingly concerned with the quality of children’s nutrition,” Selma said.
In terms of distribution, the product has begun to reach local shops and online platforms. With practical packaging and branding emphasising ‘Not Just a Kremesan’, Gadoeh Rasa hopes to reach more families in Bandung and the surrounding areas.
