UMJ's Saiful Bahri Receives 2026 Zakat Compliance Award
The Head of the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Education Management at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta’s (UMJ) Postgraduate School, Dr Saiful Bahri, Lc, MA, has received the Zakat Compliance Award in the category of Focus on Supervision of TBDSP Fund Distribution. The award was presented during the BAZNAS RI and DSN-MUI Awards 2026 National Gathering at Discovery Hotel Ancol, Jakarta, on Tuesday. According to him, good zakat governance is an important part of achieving public welfare. ‘This award is a trust as well as motivation for me to continue contributing to overseeing zakat management that is accountable, transparent, and impactful. The distribution of zakat funds must be right on target so that the benefits are truly felt by the community,’ he said. The award was given in appreciation of Saiful Bahri’s dedication and commitment to supporting accountable, transparent, and impactful zakat management. It is also presented to individuals who contribute to ensuring that the distribution of TBDSP funds is carried out according to the principles of good governance, is well-targeted, and benefits the recipients. In addition to his duties as an academic, Saiful is active in strengthening professional zakat governance oriented towards the common good. This commitment aligns with his role in developing education, research, and community service in the field of Islamic Education Management. ‘I view the strengthening of zakat governance not only as an institutional responsibility, but also as a scholarly contribution that can bring about the common good. I hope this award can encourage more parties to maintain integrity and accountability in the management of zakat funds,’ he explained. This achievement is a source of pride for the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Education Management at UMJ and reflects the commitment of the UMJ academic community to making real contributions across various strategic sectors.
