UMJ Strengthens Protocol Professionalism with LLDIKTI III
Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) strengthened protocol professionalism together with LLDIKTI Region III through an activity titled ‘Protocol Professionalism: The Pillar of Excellent Higher Education Service’. The activity, which took place at the Syafri Guricci Hall, 5th Floor FKK UMJ, on Thursday (18/6/2026), was the second day of the Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting within the LLDIKTI Region III environment.
According to officials, higher education institutions need to understand and apply applicable protocol rules while still paying attention to the characteristics and culture of each institution. ‘In the last two years, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology has paid great attention to protocol. Private universities can use the published protocol regulations as a reference, then combine them with the traditions and culture that have developed on each campus,’ they stated.
They added that the main objective of protocol is to create an orderly and well-organised event procedure and to provide the best service in every activity organised by the university. ‘All the rules and guidelines that are compiled ultimately have the same goal, namely ensuring that every activity can run well, professionally, and leave a positive impression on all parties involved,’ they said.
They also appreciated UMJ for once again hosting the LLDIKTI Region III activity. According to them, UMJ has representative facilities and good experience in implementing public relations and protocol activities. ‘UMJ has very representative facilities. From the public relations side, event organisation, to protocol, everything has been running well. We hope that the good practices at UMJ can be an inspiration for other universities,’ they remarked.
In the first session, participants received material on the Pillars of Excellent Higher Education Service delivered by the Head of the Protocol Working Team of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Muhammad Arifin Habibillah, S.Hum, and the Acting Head of the Protocol Subdivision of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Triesni Andriyati. Both speakers highlighted the importance of protocol professionalism as part of excellent higher education service. Besides ensuring events run orderly, protocol also plays a role in building a professional and trustworthy institutional image.
After the first session, the activity continued with the Socialisation of the Indonesia Post Graduate and Research Expo delivered by the Profajar Eksibit Nusantara Team. The socialisation provided information on academic and research development opportunities through various postgraduate education programmes and research networks.
Entering the second session, participants received material on Good Practices in Protocol delivered by Dra Agnes Supraptiningsih, MM from Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya and Syifa Astasia Utari, M.Si from UMJ. Through the presentation, participants were invited to understand various effective protocol practices, ranging from activity planning, event procedure arrangement, to communication strategies capable of supporting excellent service within the higher education environment.
This activity is expected to strengthen the competence of public relations and protocol personnel at universities within the LLDIKTI Region III environment so they are able to deliver professional, adaptive services oriented towards improving the quality of higher education.
