A total of 15 students from the Islamic Economics Study Programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (FEB UMJ), have begun a collective internship programme at the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS RI). The welcoming ceremony took place on Thursday in the BAZNAS RI building in Jakarta. The event was attended by BAZNAS RI Deputy I Arifin Purwakananta, Head of Human Resources Planning and Strategy Randi Swandaru, and other division heads, along with the Head of the Islamic Economics Study Programme at FEB UMJ, Dr. Adi Mansah. In his remarks, Deputy I Arifin Purwakananta expressed appreciation for the trust placed in BAZNAS RI as a partner for the internship programme. He encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity to learn and develop professional competencies in zakat management. The students will be placed in strategic divisions, including Fundraising, Operations and Human Resources, and Promotion and Marketing, to gain real-world experience in national zakat governance. Arifin also expressed hope that the collaboration between the Islamic Economics Study Programme of FEB UMJ and BAZNAS RI would continue and strengthen synergies in human resource development within the Islamic economy. The Head of the Islamic Economics Study Programme, Adi Mansah, thanked BAZNAS RI for the warm welcome and stated that the programme is expected to not only serve as a learning platform but also to produce a generation with competence, integrity, and leadership in sharia economic development in Indonesia. The collective internship is part of the implementation of the cooperation between FEB UMJ and BAZNAS RI in support of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, aiming to strengthen student competencies through direct work experience. The programme is expected to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of zakat governance, institutional management, fundraising, marketing, and human resource management within a national zakat institution. The event concluded with a symbolic handover of the students from the study programme to BAZNAS RI, followed by technical briefings from the respective division heads who will serve as supervisors during the internship.
