UMJ Hosts Central Muhammadiyah's Idul Fitri 1447 H Gathering
Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) once again hosted the Idul Fitri 1447 H Gathering of the Central Leadership (PP) of Muhammadiyah. The event, which served as a moment to strengthen brotherhood among various elements of the Muhammadiyah Association, took place at the Auditorium KH A Azhar Basyir, MA, in the Cendekia Building, UMJ, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Prof Dr Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed, Chairman of the UMJ Daily Management Board who also serves as the General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, expressed gratitude for the successful holding of this gathering. He also appreciated the presence of invited guests amid their busy schedules. “This meeting is part of our collective effort to strengthen togetherness and enhance solidarity, not only within the large Muhammadiyah family but also among all components serving the progress of Muhammadiyah and the wider community,” added this Minister of Basic and Secondary Education. He also conveyed that UMJ, as the manager of charitable endeavours, continues to strive to improve quality in various aspects, including the growth in the number of students and the development of new study programmes. This commitment is accompanied by efforts to provide affirmative programmes that favour members of the Association, particularly in the field of education. Several figures delivered messages during this occasion. One of them was Prof Dr Anggito Abimanyu, M.Sc., GRCP, Chairman of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), who expressed apologies both inwardly and outwardly to all administrators and members of the Muhammadiyah Association. In line with this, Fahri Hamzah, Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, emphasised that the tradition of mutual forgiveness in the month of Syawal is hoped to be the beginning of continuing life with renewed spirit after Ramadan. Furthermore, Irman Gusman, a member of the Regional Representative Council, stated that Muhammadiyah must take the forefront in various aspects of life. According to him, Muhammadiyah has an inseparable strategic role in the development of the ummah and the nation. The General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof Dr Haedar Nashir, M.Si., in his address, also expressed apologies for all shortcomings during his leadership period. He also appreciated all leaders of autonomous organisations, councils, institutions, and charitable endeavours that have contributed to advancing Muhammadiyah and gaining widespread trust from the public. Haedar also expressed condolences for the fallen three members of Indonesia’s peacekeeping force in Lebanon, and highlighted the global dynamics coloured by conflicts and humanitarian crises. “Muhammadiyah must always stand on the front line of national values, and play an active role in guiding the direction of Indonesia’s development towards a united, sovereign, just, and prosperous nation,” he concluded.
