Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) and the Government of South Halmahera Regency have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the implementation of the Tridarma of Higher Education and the development of human resources in the field of education. The signing took place in the third-floor meeting room of the Civilization Center building at the UMJ Rectorate on Monday (14/09/2026).

The agreement covers several areas of cooperation between UMJ and the Government of South Halmahera Regency. These include the organisation of education, research and training; community service; as well as the enhancement and development of human resource competencies.

UMJ Rector Prof. Dr. Ma’mun Murod, M.Si., welcomed the presence of the Regent of South Halmahera and his delegation at the signing of the cooperation. He viewed the meeting as part of the relationship that had previously been established.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Regent of South Halmahera and his delegation for visiting Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. For us, your presence is not merely a visit, but also part of the relationship that has been built through students from South Halmahera studying at UMJ,” said Ma’mun.

According to Ma’mun, the cooperation could be an initial step towards expanding collaboration between UMJ and the Government of South Halmahera Regency. The collaboration could be developed in accordance with the needs and potential for cooperation held by both parties.

“We certainly hope that your presence today can mark the beginning of a deeper partnership between UMJ and the Government of South Halmahera Regency. Such cooperation could relate to various possible areas, including campus affairs, research, and other fields,” he explained.
