The Master of Industrial Engineering programme at Universitas Mercu Buana (UMB) held an International Cooperation Community Service (Abdimas) activity in the form of a one-day workshop titled Strengthening Green Manufacturing Readiness in the Indonesian Electronics Industry, located at PT JST Indonesia in Cikarang. This initiative supports the Impactful Campus programme from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (KemDiktiSaintek). The activity was also supported by PT JST Indonesia, which is preparing its manufacturing system towards green manufacturing. In the current development of the global electronics industry, sustainability performance is no longer a voluntary corporate initiative but a market access ticket to win competition. PT JST Indonesia CEO Kosasih appreciated and supported the event, stating the workshop was highly suited to the company’s needs. He deployed 20 of his best staff from middle to top management, including production, QC, HRD, and Finance, to fully participate. This International Cooperation Abdimas was initiated by UMB’s Master of Industrial Engineering programme, partnering with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Dr. Hasnida, MSc from USM delivered material on Strengthening a Global Best Practice-Based Green Manufacturing Framework to Enhance the Competitiveness of Indonesia’s Electronics Industry, providing a comprehensive overview of the importance of green manufacturing in the global market. The workshop continued with material from MTI UMB lecturer Prof. Ir. Herry A. Prabowo, PhD on Green Maintenance Practices, Dr. Zulfa Fitri Ikatrinasari, MT on Waste Management and Circular Manufacturing, Dr. Uly Amrina, MT on the Integrated Green Manufacturing Framework, and Dr. Farida, MM on People First, Green Future regarding the critical role of human resources.
