Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Chairwoman of the Army Wives Association (Persit) Kartika Chandra Kirana (KCK), Uli Simanjuntak, is urging her members who are micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors to contribute to driving the wheels of the community economy.

Uli made this statement after inspecting the works of Persit members who are UMKM actors, presented during the 80th anniversary celebration of Persit themed “Persit Bisa” at Expo Balai Kartini, Jakarta, on Thursday (7/5).

In an official press release received in Jakarta on Friday, several UMKM products from Persit members were explained, such as songket fabric, batik fabric, and various fashion and accessory products.

Uli praised the works of these Persit members because they are considered to be deeply infused with Indonesian culture and worthy of widespread marketing.

According to her, the works produced by Persit members represent the cultural diversity possessed by Indonesia.

“I found many that are truly beautiful, and when I studied the stories behind those works, it made me even more determined to discover my identity as a creator of Indonesian culture,” she said.

Uli also appreciated the UMKM actors from Persit for their willingness to participate in this event.

According to her, this event is not just a birthday celebration but an opportunity for UMKM actors to meet, exchange ideas, or collaborate.

Therefore, Uli hopes that this activity can become a momentum for UMKM actors from the Persit circle to expand their businesses and drive the community economy.

“This is not just an exhibition of Nusantara culture but an opportunity for development for Persit mothers to advance further and present an arts exhibition that blends various Indonesian cultures,” she stated.
