Ukrainian Woman Suspected in Monaco Bombing

The prime suspect in the attempted murder of Ukrainian conglomerate Vadim Yermolayev in Monaco is reportedly a 30-year-old Ukrainian woman residing in Germany. The information was disclosed by French media outlet France Info on Thursday, citing related sources. On the same day, the Monaco Public Prosecutor’s Office also confirmed it had issued an arrest warrant for the suspect. According to the investigation report, after the explosion occurred, the suspect headed directly to the commune of Beausoleil in France, before ultimately fleeing to Italy with her accomplices. The explosion rocked Monaco on Monday evening, injuring three people: a man, a woman, and a child. The Silver Eye communications agency, which represents Yermolayev, confirmed that the prominent businessman and his son were among those injured in the incident. Meanwhile, Le Figaro newspaper reported that the current priority scenario for Monaco’s investigative team points towards the alleged involvement of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The explosion is strongly suspected to have been orchestrated by the SBU as a severe warning to Yermolayev. However, Monaco’s Attorney General Stephane Thibault stated that, based on initial data, the authorities have not yet classified the explosion as a terrorist act. The investigative team is continuing to probe the motive behind the attack.
