Ukrainian Tourist Allegedly Kidnapped in Bali; Six Foreign Nationals Become Suspects and Placed on Wanted List
A Ukrainian national with the initials IK, aged 28, has gone missing and is believed to have been kidnapped in Bali. In connection with this case, police have established six foreign nationals as suspects and are coordinating with Interpol.
Kombes Ariasandy, head of communications at the Bali Regional Police, revealed that the case began when investigators from the Bali Regional Police and Denpasar Regional Police detected a suspicious vehicle. “From the investigation conducted by our officers from the Bali Regional Police and Denpasar Regional Police, we were able to identify a suspicious four-wheeled vehicle (an Avanza) and two motorcycles. During the initial investigation, the vehicle was found to have been rented by a foreign national with the initials C,” Ariasandy said, as reported by detikBali on Saturday (28 February 2026).
Police subsequently traced the whereabouts of the vehicle renter. Individual C is suspected of renting the vehicle using a forged passport on the orders of another party. The individual was found to have travelled to the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region and was apprehended on Monday (23 February).
Based on CCTV footage and GPS tracking on the vehicle, the car was found to have stopped at a villa in the Tabanan area. This location is suspected to be where the victim recorded a live video that previously went viral on social media. “From our CCTV and GPS tracking on the vehicle, we found that it stopped at a villa in the Tabanan area. We then checked the villa and suspect it was the location where the victim broadcast their video. Based on the video that circulated online, the location appears to match,” he stated.
At the villa location, police discovered traces of blood. Similar findings were also discovered inside the rented Avanza.
From further investigation, police identified six foreign nationals allegedly involved in or aware of the kidnapping incident. They bear the initials RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. “We have upgraded these six foreign nationals to suspect status. Today, we will also coordinate to issue a missing persons alert and red notice to Interpol to locate these individuals we have designated as suspects,” he concluded.
