Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Oil Tanker and Storage Depot in Taganrog and Armavir

Ukrainian drones struck an oil tanker at Russia’s Taganrog port and an oil depot in the city of Armavir, Russia, according to authorities in Russia’s southern Rostov and Krasnodar regions on Saturday, 30 May. Al Arabiya reported on Saturday, 30 May 2026, that Rostov regional governor Yury Slyusar wrote on Telegram that fires at the oil tanker and Taganrog port – a city of approximately 240,000 residents – had been extinguished with no reported oil spills. He stated two people were injured in the attack. Taganrog mayor Svetlana Kambulova said the local state of emergency, imposed on 27 May, had been extended. In neighbouring Krasnodar region, Armavir authorities, with a population of 185,000, confirmed that the oil depot fire in the city’s industrial zone had been brought under control. No injuries were reported from the attack. Rostov governor Slyusar said nearly 50 drones had been shot down in the region. Drone attacks were reported across the province bordering Ukraine’s Donbas region, the epicentre of fighting between Russia and Ukraine. Outside Taganrog, he added, only minor damage was reported.
