Ukraine and US Agree to Accelerate Negotiations to End War

The head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov, has stated that Ukrainian and American delegations agreed during a meeting at the White House to intensify negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took place on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. “We held in-depth discussions on the diplomatic and security steps needed to bring a just peace closer,” Budanov said on social media platform X on Tuesday. “Together with our American partners, we have a clear understanding of the need to end the war quickly and fairly. We agreed to intensify the negotiation process at all levels.” Previously, on 28 June, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that dialogue with the US on Ukraine could continue after the critical phase of discussions regarding Iran concluded. Putin stated that Russia is ready to resume negotiations and discuss all details and topics raised in Anchorage, Alaska, in August 2025. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia is prepared for a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis, while emphasising that Russia also possesses sufficient capability to continue its special military operation.
