UK dance troop to perform here

JAKARTA (JP): The Mark Baldwin Dance Company, a famous
contemporary dance group from Britain, is scheduled to perform on
Saturday and Sunday.

The dance troop's Indonesian visit is sponsored by the British
Council, as part of its cultural exchange program between Britain
and Indonesia.

The troop will present a repertoire including Excursions, More
Poulenc, Concerto Grosso and Out of doors.

Excursions will be performed by four dancers in fast, free-
flowing movements. More Poulenc will feature the same quartet,
with movement almost like a dialog. Dancers articulate their
motifs in graphic sentences, in a delectable combination of
contrasts and full of comedy.

Apart from the weekend performances, the troop will hold a
workshop on dance techniques and choreography at the Gedung
Kesenian and the Jakarta Arts Institute campus at Taman Ismail
Marzuki Art Center on Jl. Cikini Raya, Central Jakarta. (raw)
