UIN Walisongo Lecturer Allegedly Commits Sexual Harassment Against Female Student, Campus Responds
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG – Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Walisongo Semarang is currently investigating a case of alleged sexual harassment committed by a lecturer at the campus against a female student. The investigation was initiated after the alleged harassment case spread on social media.
The Instagram account @pesan_uinws was the party that revealed the alleged sexual harassment case by a UIN Walisongo lecturer against a female student. In its post on Tuesday (5/5/2026), @pesan_uinws uploaded several screenshots showing the contents of a conversation on an instant messaging platform.
In the conversation, the sender, alleged to be a UIN Walisongo lecturer, wrote messages with lewd and vulgar content. The messages are suspected to have been sent to his female student.
“This father figure has been causing disturbances for a long time, please follow up. There are already many victims who have spoken up through DMs to the admin,” wrote @pesan_uinws in the caption of the post.

Head of the Centre for Gender and Child Studies (PSGA) at UIN Walisongo Semarang, Kurnia Muhajarah, revealed that they have been following the news regarding the alleged sexual harassment case committed by the campus lecturer against a female student. “Currently, the team is working hard to dig into and investigate,” said Kurnia during a press statement at the Rectorate Building of UIN Walisongo Semarang on Friday (8/5/2026).
The same sentiment was expressed by the Chair of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) at UIN Walisongo, Nur Hasyim. He stated that the alleged sexual harassment case is currently being investigated by a joint team from PSGA and Satgas PPKS.
