Police are continuing to investigate the violent incident. The Head of Public Relations for the Riau Regional Police, Senior Police Commissioner Pandra Zahwani Arsyad, confirmed that the victim’s condition has improved following intensive medical treatment.

“I met directly with the medical team from Bhayangkara Hospital, specifically with Dr Ana, and was accompanied by the victim’s uncle, Iwan, and Vice Rector 3, Haris, at the location,” he stated on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

According to Pandra, based on the treating physician’s assessment, Faradila’s condition was relatively stable following the incident. However, to ensure optimal care, the victim was referred to a general hospital with more comprehensive facilities.

“The condition is fairly stable following the incident, but to provide the best care, she was transferred to the Regional General Hospital in Pekanbaru, namely Arifin Achmad Hospital,” he said.

According to medical examination results, Faradila sustained three wounds from the sharp weapon to various parts of her body.

“On the head, then on the back, and on the arm. These are both cuts and stab wounds. However, her condition is very good now and I have met directly with the victim,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator R was apprehended shortly after the incident. She was initially detained by campus security and student marshals before being handed over to police.

“At Bina Widya Police Station, Pekanbaru Police District. The case is being handled by the station and is being prosecuted under the latest legislation, Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, specifically Article 469,” he explained.
