UIN Semarang Launches Library and Information Science Study Programme

Semarang (ANTARA) - UIN Walisongo Semarang has launched a Library and Information Science study programme under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

The Public Relations Officer of UIN Walisongo Semarang, Astri Amanati, in Semarang, Friday, said that this new study programme is the only one of its kind among Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) in the coastal areas of Central Java.

“This new study programme adopts the Unity of Science paradigm, a curriculum that integrates library science with digital technology, Islamic values, humanity, and local wisdom,” she said.

She added that the study programme is designed to prepare graduates who are competitive at both national and global levels.

“We are preparing graduates who are ready to pursue careers in various sectors,” she said.

With the issuance of the operational permit, she continued, UIN Semarang is offering opportunities for graduates of Senior High Schools (SMA/MA) and Vocational High Schools (SMK) to join this academic year.
