UIN Palu Involves 300 Students in Thematic Land Affairs KKN
Palu (ANTARA) - Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Datokarama Palu in Central Sulawesi is involving 300 students in implementing the Thematic Community Service Programme (KKN) on Land Affairs.
“One of the focuses of the Thematic KKN is identifying waqf lands in the Central Sulawesi region,” said the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at UIN Datokarama Palu, Sahran Raden, in Palu on Monday.
Of the 800 waqf land parcels that do not yet have legal basis, the majority are located in the Palu City area. Through collaboration between UIN Datokarama and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/National Land Agency (BPN), they are participating in the land certification programme via the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) scheme.
“We want to contribute to securing and providing legal certainty for community assets, including madrasahs, foundations, public cemeteries, and places of worship,” he stated.
He explained that the Thematic KKN is a highly specific form of community service, where students not only provide physical presence but also carry a mission to assist in data validation, mapping, and socialising the importance of land certification.
The Thematic KKN will be implemented in April 2026, in collaboration with the Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the National Land Agency (Kanwil BPN).
Regarding the acceleration of waqf land certification, he said that KKN students in the field must help process Waqf Declaration Deeds (AIW), and then waqf lands, including land or plots for places of worship that already have AIW, should be forwarded to the BPN at the district/city and provincial levels for certification.
“We hope this programme will benefit the community, and we ensure that through this programme, there will no longer be waqf lands or community plots without legal basis, because land certification has permanent legal force,” Sahran concluded.
