UIN Jakarta's Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme Joins LPDP Scholarship List
The Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme (S3) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, has been officially included in the list of study programmes eligible for the LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) Batch 2 scholarship in 2026. In line with this, the programme is opening registration for new students for the odd semester of the 2026/2027 academic year, second wave, from 2 to 29 July 2026.
This status as an LPDP destination programme opens wider opportunities for lecturers, researchers, civil servants (ASN), regulators, Islamic finance industry practitioners, and other professionals to pursue doctoral education with government funding support.
Prof Nur Hidayah, Head of the Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme at FEB UIN Jakarta, stated that the designation as an LPDP destination is a recognition of the academic quality improvements that have been consistently carried out. “Alhamdulillah, the Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme at FEB UIN Jakarta is now an LPDP scholarship destination programme. This is both a mandate and a great opportunity to produce more academics, researchers, regulators, and leaders in the Islamic finance industry who can make real contributions to national and global economic development,” she said.
Previously, the programme also achieved ‘Unggul’ (Excellent) accreditation from LAMEMBA. This achievement further strengthens its position as one of the providers of doctoral education in the fields of Islamic economics, finance, and banking in Indonesia.
Prof Ibnu Qizam, Dean of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, said that the programme’s inclusion in the LPDP destination list is the result of strengthening the quality of education, governance, research, international publications, and collaborative networks developed by the campus. “The inclusion of the Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme as an LPDP scholarship destination is an important momentum to expand access to quality doctoral education. We hope that more of the nation’s best talents will choose FEB UIN Jakarta as a place to develop their academic capacity and leadership in the field of Islamic economics and finance,” he said.
The doctoral programme offers a research-based curriculum covering the development of Islamic economic theory and policy, Islamic banking, Islamic social finance, Sharia fintech, governance, sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation in Islamic financial systems. Students will be guided by professors and lecturers with international publication track records and supported by research collaborations with universities, regulators, industry, and various national and international institutions.
In addition to opening registration for the Islamic Banking Doctoral Programme, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is also opening new student admissions for Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) programmes in the second wave from 2 to 29 July 2026. A total of 26 master’s programmes and six doctoral programmes are being offered during this period.
