The Doctoral Programme (S3) in Islamic Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, has officially opened registration for new students for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The second wave of registration runs from 2 to 29 July 2026. This year’s intake is particularly special because the S3 Islamic Banking Programme at FEB UIN Jakarta has been designated as one of the target study programmes for the LPDP Batch 2 Scholarship in 2026. This status opens wider opportunities for lecturers, researchers, civil servants (ASN), Islamic finance industry practitioners, regulators, and professionals to pursue doctoral studies with government funding support. The Head of the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking at FEB UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Nur Hidayah, stated that the programme’s inclusion in the LPDP destination list is a form of recognition for its continuously improving academic quality. “Alhamdulillah, the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking at FEB UIN Jakarta is now one of the target study programmes for the LPDP Scholarship. This is both a mandate and a great opportunity to produce more academics, researchers, regulators, and leaders in the Islamic finance industry who can make a real contribution to national and global economic development,” said Prof. Nur in a written statement on Monday (6/7). Previously, the S3 Islamic Banking Programme at FEB UIN Jakarta also successfully achieved an ‘Unggul’ (Excellent) Accreditation from LAMEMBA. This achievement further strengthens the programme’s position as one of the best doctoral education providers in the fields of Islamic economics, finance, and banking in Indonesia. The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, appreciated the success of the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking in becoming an LPDP Scholarship destination. According to him, this recognition is the result of the collective work of the entire academic community of FEB UIN Jakarta in improving academic quality, governance, research quality, international publications, and national and international cooperation networks. “The inclusion of the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking as an LPDP Scholarship destination is an important momentum to expand access to quality doctoral education. We hope that more of the nation’s best talents will choose FEB UIN Jakarta as a place to develop their academic capacity and leadership in the field of Islamic economics and finance,” he said. The Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking offers a research-based curriculum oriented towards the development of theory and policy in the fields of Islamic economics, Islamic banking, Islamic social finance, Islamic fintech, governance, sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation in Islamic financial systems. Students are guided by professors and lecturers with reputable international publication track records and are supported by research collaborations with various universities, regulators, industries, and national and international institutions. Graduates of this programme are projected to become academics, researchers, consultants, regulators, leaders of Islamic financial institutions, and policymakers capable of producing innovations and solutions to challenges in Islamic economics and finance at both national and global levels.
