UIN Datokarama Provides Free Education Access for Palestinian People
Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Datokarama Palu, Central Sulawesi, is providing free access to undergraduate education for the Palestinian people. Rector Prof Lukman Thahir stated that the policy is a form of support for Palestine. During a working visit to the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday, the rector discussed various efforts to empower young Palestinians, including through education. He said UIN Datokarama has prepared undergraduate scholarships for international students through the Datokarama International Scholarship programme, as the campus under the Ministry of Religious Affairs aims to become an international standard university. The scholarship programme is a tangible manifestation of the university’s concern for human resource development and support for the Palestinian people’s struggle through education. As an initial step, the university is providing scholarships to five young Palestinians. Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A K Al-Sattari welcomed the education programme and will immediately send five young Palestinians to study at the campus. He expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s support for the Palestinian people, including in the field of education.
