UIN Datokarama Palu and ANTARA collaborate to strengthen public information on higher education
Palu (ANTARA) – State Islamic University Datokarama Palu (UIN Datokarama Palu) and the National News Agency LKBN ANTARA are collaborating to strengthen the dissemination of public information on higher education.
“This step is part of the effort to accelerate the dissemination of information regarding policies and administration of higher education,” said Rector Prof Lukman Thahir of UIN Datokarama Palu in Palu, on Thursday.
According to him, the role of the mass media is very important in building public trust in universities. In addition, the media also provides enlightenment to the public including countering hoaxes.
“Mass media, as the fourth pillar of democracy, play a vital role in maintaining balance. Through this collaboration we hope UIN Datokarama will become more widely socialised to a broad audience, so that interest in the university increases,” Lukman said.
Meanwhile, Head of ANTARA Central Sulawesi Bureau Andilala stated that ANTARA as a news agency has an obligation to broadcast information that is balanced, accurate and credible to the public.
In addition, ANTARA is also tasked by the state to carry out public service obligations (PSO) in the field of press to provide trusted public information, with the aim of disseminating state policies evenly to remote areas.
“This includes building a positive image through news content. We are committed to disseminating information that educates and enlightens the public, and to providing solutions in every news item,” he said.
In addition to ANTARA, UIN Datokarama has also partnered with other mass media in Palu to help disseminate public information.
The UIN campus has engaged seven mass media outlets to build a positive image of the academic community, and the cooperation lasts for 12 months, from January to December 2026.
