UIMandiri's Inaugural 2026 Graduation: Strengthening Integrity, Innovation, and Collaboration in the Global Era
Universitas Indonesia Mandiri (UIMandiri) marked a historic milestone by holding its inaugural graduation ceremony for 2026 on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at the UIMandiri Campus in Tanjung Heran, South Lampung. Under the theme “Strengthening Integrity, Innovation, and Collaboration in the Global Era,” the event served as a strategic moment to reaffirm UIMandiri’s commitment to delivering quality education in Lampung.
A total of 81 graduates, out of 96 alumni, officially participated in the ceremony, representing six study programmes: Business Administration (24), Public Administration (23), Informatics (17), Taxation (13), Visual Communication Design (10), and Industrial Engineering (9). This cohort includes graduates from both the first and second batches during UIMandifer’s fourth year of operation. Currently, the campus, established by the Battuta Bangun Negeri Foundation, hosts 1,083 active students across 13 study programmes, supported by 67 qualified lecturers.
The solemn ceremony was attended by various national and regional stakeholders, including the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Dr Hanif Faisol Nurofiq; the Vice Governor of Lampung, Dr Jihan Nurlela; and representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
In his address, the Rector of UIMandiri, Dr Rustono Farady Marta, stated that graduation is not the end of learning but the beginning of service and real contribution to society. He noted the presence of strategic partners from various vertical institutions to support the progress of South Lampung on a global scale, aligned with the university’s ‘GLOBAL’ slogan: Gratitude, Locality, Outrage, Bravery, and Adaptability.
The graduation was held in the newly completed first phase of the university’s three-storey lecture building. A campus auditorium is targeted for completion by August 2026 to welcome new students, including international students; UIMandiri has already enrolled students from Timor-Leste and Indonesia’s remote regions, such as Nias, Mentawai, and Papua.
Ir Toto Priyana, Chairman of the Battuta Bangun Negeri Foundation, emphasised that UIMandiri continues to strengthen its role as a centre for education, research, innovation, and community service through applied research, industrial collaboration, student entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. The university is part of the vision of the founding father and current Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Dr H Zulkifli Hasan, to establish South Lampung as a hub for quality education and healthcare. The institution aims to provide high-quality education at affordable prices, with plans to expand into the healthcare sector in the future.
